Deerfield Academy

Deerfield Academy branded itself as a “heads-up” campus, in which it is supposedly a norm for students to restrict their phone usage when others are near, or when there is an opportunity for greater community building. Deerfield students were spending around 5 hours online daily, according to a study taken on campus in 2020.

This number skyrocketed to an average of 8 hours during the pandemic and only continued to grow.

To stand up to this ever-growing digital addiction, Heads Up Founder and Chair Diana Bishopp decided to take action toward change in this community, founding the first-ever Heads Up club at Deerfield Academy.

Our Mission.

We empower high school communities in the United States of America to lead more digitally balanced lifestyles with our youth-for-youth programming.

As Big Tech’s target audience, we have learned through experience what motivates our peers — there’s no middleman. We use our knowledge to carefully design our clubs, campaigns, and other programming to create the most impact possible.
